Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

Nintendo STEALS Money!Since this has been going around lately, I should probably give my two cents. Basically what it amounts to is that Nintendo has filed Content ID info of their games with YouTube. What this means is that if you upload gameplay video of a Nintendo game, YouTube will automatically monetize that video, put ads on it, a link to where to buy the game, and take the money generated from that video and give it directly to Nintendo. People who do "let's play" videos are, naturally, pissed off because they want to be earning money off their videos, so they're calling Nintendo "thieves" for doing this.
I can see both sides to the story. I can see Nintendo as a corporation wanting to exercise control over their properties. On the other hand, "let's play" videos can often help new gamers find games they otherwise wouldn't have tried.
But here's the thing: Nintendo isn't the first company do this. Both Microsoft and Ubisoft do it already. YouTube has also had a long history of having music videos and

The future of Reflections icons

First of all I want to thank all the people who has downloaded, faved and commented on my Reflections iconsets and also apologize for not having answered to suggestions and other comments in a long time.

I have been quite busy with work and family so the time left for deviations was reduced to almost nothing.

The different Reflections iconsets have achieved a total of 50.000 downloads in global so I feel really proud a happy about it. I keep receiving a lot of suggestions about new icons to be integrated in the series and it has inspired other deviants for their own works.

These are the main reasons that have forced me to take a decision about the future of the Reflections series.

I am going to do my best effort to release a new volume (the fith one) with all the requests recevied since Vol. IV plus all the icons included in the previous sets, so there is a complete package with the dock icons plus the system replacement icons.

Also, I will release the Photoshop template for creating your own Reflections icons. This will be done during this weekend too.

I hope I can find the time for doing more deviant stuff in the next future, but I would like to try new concepts. So please keep coming back from time to time to tell me what you think. Your feedback is always welcome!!

First of all, let me say that I absolutely LOVE your reflections icons. I'm a really big fan.

But I was wondering if you could please create reflection icons for Ventrilo and AOL Instant Messenger. They should say "VENT" and "AIM", respectively. I saw that you have a download link for creating your own, but when it comes to image-editing, I am sadly illiterate. And I don't think I even have photoshop.

I love your icons, however now with Leopard, it seems that they have to be like 512x512px in order to look OK in all the animations (cover flow).

Cannot wait for a hires version.

Thanks for your comment. Creating 512px icons was not on my to-do list, but I might release the original PSD for the icons so you guys can resize them, since they are all made of paths.
